Since 1977, Church of God of Prophecy have been running a vibrant youth camp ministry, which have transformed the lives of many. This camping ministry became a powerful tool for youth evangelism with year on year record breaking attendance of young campers from across the UK. Camp played a pivotal role for the early campers, who for many, migrated to the UK with their parents as part of the Windrush, and for others, first generation children. It created an environment for them to meet new friends, many of whom became lifelong partners, whilst growing spiritually. As a result, many of the early campers, have gone on to do major things in their communities.
As we celebrate 70 years of Windrush, we want to see this legacy of a vibrant youth camp ministry live on, by retelling the stories in a creative and tangible way for the generations to come.
On Saturday, 18th August 2018, 3:16 Events in collaboration with Church of God of Prophecy, will be hosting a ‘Youth Camp Reunion’ at the Birmingham City Church (Parade Street, Birmingham B1 3QQ). The event will provide a time for campers from 1977 – 1990’s to reminisce on their camping experiences as they browse through our exhibition of camp mementos and photos as we celebrate their contributions.
